Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP)

Our IOP is Perfect for those who have already completed a residential, inpatient, or partial-hospitalization treatment program or someone who doesn’t require a higher level of care. TrueFreedom Recovery Center IOP is based on the time-tested 12-step philosophy. Our clients receive therapy and life skills training on an outpatient basis. We apply the 12-steps philosophy to all aspects of life to empower our clients to successfully maintain long-term recovery. The goal is to help our clients learn the tools needed for long-term recovery which will improve all aspects of their life, employment, family, and daily living. Our clients have weekly therapy and are given assignments for 12 weeks. We provide group therapy to our clients 3 times weekly, for 3-hour group sessions that focus on issues and struggles that arise in early recovery. A number of topics are addressed that cover the disease of addiction and coping mechanisms to enhance their recovery and free them from active addiction. Individual and family counseling is offered when needed or requested.

Sober Living Alternative

In addition to Intensive Outpatient Therapy, True Freedom Recovery Center is affiliated with Freedom House Sober Living. They offer structured sober living housing for clients to have a safe and secure place to reside. Sober living allows our clients the freedom to live on their own while having the accountability and fellowship needed to succeed in their recovery. Their houses are located in Hammond and Covington, La. They have houses for both men and women. The houses are fully furnished including bedding, cleaning supplies, kitchenware, and paper goods.

Aftercare Treatment

After the successful completion of Intensive Outpatient Therapy, our clients can continue their journey by attending weekly outpatient therapy and aftercare groups. They can also continue to reside on sober living homes if they desire. Our clients receive long-term support and structure throughout their first year of recovery.

Vocational Training and Employment Services

Unemployment or underemployment is often a problem for individuals in early recovery. Clients entering our IOP program often have issues that impede their ability to be employed fully, such as limited formal education, poor work readiness, and skill deficits. Few IOP programs are prepared to address these barriers to employment; hence, specialized vocational and employment counseling and related services on-site or through case-managed referral are an optimal part of our IOP program.

We stay abreast of local vocational training and employment resources and have developed relationships with these agencies and with individual counselors at these agencies. Our community offers specific vocational resources for persons with disabilities, veterans, women, criminal justice clients, and other groups. Our clients benefit because of these relationships.
